About this imac
About macOS on this Mac
This Mac ships with macOS Ventura (13) installed and ready to use. Ventura runs all the everyday software you'd expect — current Microsoft Office for Mac (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Spotify, and the Mac App Store.
A note about how Ventura is installed: Apple stopped issuing new macOS releases for this model. We've installed Ventura using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP), a respected community tool that lets older Macs run modern macOS. The Mac boots, performs and behaves like any other Ventura installation.
Important — please do not attempt to update macOS. Apple does not ship Ventura updates to this model, so the System Settings → Software Update dialog won't work as expected. Updates require re-running OpenCore, which we're happy to handle for you. Trying to update through Software Update may fail or leave the system in an inconsistent state.
One small thing to expect: very occasionally an Apple service such as iCloud, FaceTime, or Messages may ask you to re-authenticate. This is normal for OCLP-installed Macs and signing in again resolves it.

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Late 2012) remains a capable all-in-one desktop for home offices, students, and creative professionals who need a large screen and solid performance without breaking the bank. This refurbished model combines the iconic aluminium design Apple is known for with the practicality of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, generous RAM options up to 32GB, and a choice of traditional hard drives, speedy SSDs, or Fusion Drive storage. Whether you're editing photos, managing spreadsheets, browsing the web, or video calling, the 27-inch display gives you the screen real estate to work comfortably. Available in Grade A, B, and C cosmetic conditions, each unit has been tested and graded to help you choose the right balance of specification and budget.
Under the sleek silver chassis, you'll find either an Intel Core i7-3770 (3.4GHz quad-core) or an Intel Core i5-3470S processor, both from Intel's third-generation architecture. Paired with RAM options spanning 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB, this iMac handles everyday multitasking, office productivity suites, web development, and light content creation with ease. Storage is highly configurable: choose a 512GB SSD for fast boot times and application launches, a spacious 1TB HDD for maximum capacity, or the hybrid 1TB Fusion Drive that intelligently combines SSD speed with HDD volume. The 27-inch display delivers ample workspace for side-by-side documents, creative timelines, or simply enjoying media on a big, bright screen. This model appeals to buyers who value the all-in-one form factor—no separate tower, minimal cables—and the longevity that comes with refurbished Apple hardware backed by a full 12-month warranty.
Choose Your Configuration
We stock multiple variants of the iMac 27-inch 2012, so you can select the processor, RAM, and storage combination that fits your needs. Configurations range from an i5 with 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD in Grade B, right up to an i7 with 32GB RAM and 1TB Fusion Drive. Storage types include traditional spinning hard drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD) for speed, and Fusion Drives that blend both technologies. RAM scales from 8GB—fine for general use—through 16GB for more demanding workflows, to 32GB for users running virtual machines or heavy creative applications. Prices reflect the specification and cosmetic grade, starting from entry-level configurations and rising to higher-spec units in pristine Grade A condition. The configurator on this page lets you compare all available units side by side.
Cosmetic Grades Explained
Grade A: Excellent condition with minimal signs of use—light surface marks only. Grade B: Good condition with light to moderate cosmetic wear such as small scratches or scuffs; fully functional. Grade C: Fair condition showing heavier cosmetic wear—dents, deeper scratches, or discolouration—but tested and working reliably. Every grade meets the same functional standard; your choice depends on how much cosmetic perfection matters to you versus budget.

Students benefit from the multitasking headroom—research in one window, essay in another, lecture notes in a third. Even light gaming and media streaming are well within reach. The iMac 27-inch 2012 is also a popular choice for families seeking a shared computer: the big screen is easy on the eyes, and macOS remains intuitive across all ages.
