Grade A: This is our best cosmetic grade — the casing is close to mint condition, with at most tiny micro-marks. On iMac and All-in-One units, the screen is scratch-free.
Grade B: The casing has light scratches or scuffs — visible if you look closely, not something that jumps out. On iMac and All-in-One units, the screen is scratch-free.
Grade C: The casing shows visible scratches, scuffs or small dents — this one has clearly been used, but works like new. On iMac and All-in-One units, there are a few faint screen scratches, only visible when it's switched on.

Upgraded to macOS Ventura
This iMac can be supplied with macOS Ventura installed using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP), a well-established independent open-source tool that lets older Macs run newer versions of macOS. That means it runs current versions of the many apps that need macOS Ventura or later — such as recent releases of Chrome, Microsoft 365 and Zoom — not just the older versions limited to its original macOS. We install and test it before dispatch. OCLP is not supported by Apple; if you would rather have the last official macOS version for this model, just ask before or after ordering.

The 27-inch screen delivers room for multiple windows side by side, whether you're managing spreadsheets, editing images or browsing research. Intel Core i5-3470S and i7-3770 quad-core processors handle everyday multitasking and light creative workloads, while memory options from 8GB to 32GB let you choose a configuration that matches your workflow. Storage spans 256GB SSD for fast boot times, 1TB HDD for larger libraries, or 1TB Fusion Drive that combines flash storage with a traditional hard drive. The Silver aluminium chassis keeps cables out of sight, and macOS Ventura brings modern security updates and compatibility with the latest Mac software.
Performance for everyday use
Intel Core i7-3770 quad-core configurations deliver responsive performance for spreadsheets, email, web browsing and photo organisation. The i5-3470S variant offers a capable foundation for home and office tasks, while 16GB and 32GB RAM configurations support larger photo libraries and browser sessions with dozens of tabs. macOS Ventura brings continuity features that link your iPhone and iPad, plus built-in apps for productivity and creativity. The all-in-one design removes the need for a separate tower, freeing desk space and reducing clutter.
Display and connectivity
The 27-inch display provides ample screen real estate for reference documents alongside active work, or for viewing full-resolution images in photo-editing applications. Connectivity options support external drives, printers and peripherals. macOS Ventura integrates seamlessly with iCloud, so documents, photos and settings sync across Apple devices. The integrated design means no separate monitor or cabling—power on and you're ready to work.
Configurations in stock
You can select from Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, memory spanning 8GB, 16GB, 24GB or 32GB, and storage ranging from 256GB SSD to 1TB in HDD, SSD or Fusion configurations. Grade A units show minimal signs of previous use; Grade B and Grade C options deliver the same tested performance at accessible entry points. Every configuration is tested, professionally refurbished, and covered by a 12-month warranty with 30-day returns.
Who it suits
The second hand iMac 27-inch 2012 suits home offices, small businesses, students and anyone moving from an ageing Windows PC to macOS. The large display supports design work, spreadsheet analysis and media playback, while the all-in-one form factor suits tidy desks and shared workspaces. Because it runs macOS Ventura, the machine remains compatible with current productivity software, cloud storage and Apple's ecosystem. Refurbished Apple iMac 27 inch 2012 models offer a proven desktop platform backed by Buyer Area's 12-month warranty and free tracked UK delivery by DPD.
Is the refurbished iMac 27-inch 2012 good for photo editing?
Yes, the 27-inch display provides ample screen space for viewing and editing images, and configurations with 16GB or 32GB RAM and an Intel Core i7-3770 processor handle photo-editing applications comfortably. The large display lets you see full-resolution images alongside editing tools, and macOS Ventura supports current versions of creative software. Choose an SSD or Fusion Drive configuration for faster application loading and file access.
Which configuration should I choose?
For general office work and web browsing, an Intel Core i5-3470S with 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD offers a solid foundation. If you work with larger files, photo libraries or run multiple applications simultaneously, consider an i7-3770 with 16GB or 24GB RAM and a 512GB SSD or 1TB Fusion Drive for faster performance. All configurations run macOS Ventura and are tested before dispatch.
What comes in the box with a used iMac?
Each refurbished Apple iMac 27 inch 2012 ships with the iMac itself and a power cable. The all-in-one design means no separate monitor, tower or additional cables are required. You will need your own keyboard and mouse or trackpad—Apple wireless peripherals and third-party USB options work with the iMac. All units are tested and graded before dispatch.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?
Every unit comes with a 12-month warranty covering faults. It excludes accidental damage and normal wear and tear.
Can I upgrade the RAM or storage later?
The iMac 27-inch 2012 allows RAM upgrades through an access panel on the rear of the machine, so you can add or replace memory modules after purchase. Storage upgrades require opening the display assembly and are more involved. It is usually simpler to choose a configuration with the RAM and storage you need from the available options—8GB to 32GB RAM and 256GB SSD to 1TB HDD or Fusion configurations are in stock.
